Someone recently told me that Hotmail will be closing up...or switching over to something else. Is that true? I certainly hope not. I wish they would just allow people to upgrade to a new version or something if they WANT to, but not force people to. Does anyone here know about that, or if it is or isn't true? I've been using my hotmail account for years and I really, really don't want to have to switch everything over to a new account.
This weekend was busy, but very good!
I watched my friend's little boy this weekend so that she could have a much needed weekend away from her baby. He is 2 years old and she hasn't been away from him, except for one other time, when she left him with me for one night. That was 6 or 8 months ago. Otherwise, she hasn't had a day to herself at all since he was born. She is a single mom. The dad is not in the picture at all. She got the opportunity to go to Vegas with her friend, and even our boss encouraged her to go because she is driving herself and her little boy crazy. She has been so stressed out that he feeds off of that and they both end up a mess. Anyway, she just picked him up about 10 minutes ago, and it sounds like she had a really great time! I'm happy for her.
Friday after work was football practice, and then we came home and rested for the night. Saturday morning was a jog-a-thon for my son's football team. They managed to raise over $3,500 for their team. That pays for all their dues and fees for the year and so now anything extra that they raise will be for team events and gear for the kids, etc. This team is so much more active than the team was last year and I'm so glad my son switched. I'm also very proud of him so far this year because he really is giving it his all. He is paying attention to the diet, resting enough, studying the paperwork they are giving the kids, etc., and it is quite a switch from last year, when he hated going every day. We always give him the option of what kind of activity he wants to sign up for, but the deal is that if he signs up for something, then he has to stick with it until the end of the season. I was surprised he wanted to go do this a second year, but he did, and he is doing great! (Sorry-proud mom here!)
After the jogathon, we went down to my sister's house and spent the rest of the weekend there, and then just go back home this evening. I've been working on laundry and cleaning house ever since then.

So nice you could take the baby for your friend so she could have some time away from him. Great that the jog-a-thon went so well. $3500 wow, that is fantastic. Hopefully with new coaches, things will be better than last year.
Here is what I found about it:

Sounds like she needed that break but 2 is a tough age for any parent!

From what I saw on my hotmail page it just makes it look like it will be connecting with Microsoft Outlook. That's what I understood, but I really don't know much about it so I'm not too sure. For me it wouldn't be a big deal if they make a big change anyways as my primary email address is yahoo..... though I do use msn messenger. That's great that you looked after your friend's kid, I'm sure she really appreciated that a lot. Everyone needs a break sometimes, especially single moms I can imagine ! I am very disappointed in so many men out there though..... it's just amazing how many losers there are with kids yet they don't care to have anything to do with their own children.
I'm glad to hear that your son is enjoying the football so much. It really sounds like a very great team atmosphere where everyone is treated equally and a lot of things are done to raise money and help out, so he is definitely part of a great program. When I go to Starbucks I'll usually have a grande mocha frappuichino, though I like the vanilla bean frappuichino with two shots of mocha, or the fruit cream frappuichinos as well. I never drink hot coffee so I'm always drinking frappuichinos.
Blueberries are one of the most popular fruits here this time of the year and there are soooooooooooo many blueberry farms. From what I read in the paper the Blueberry festival had blueberry pancakes, and pies and there was a car show there as well showing very, very, very old cars and I'm sure a few other things as well. I didn't actually take part I just kind of walked by so I probably missed a lot of the other things they had there. I hope that everything has been going well with you lately. Take care and have a wonderful start to the week, bye for now.

How nice that you could give your friend a break by keeping her little boy overnight. I am sure you enjoyed having a little one around again too.
And it sounds like your son's got a good football team and coaches this time around. That makes for a great way for him to spend his free time too.
Sounds like your grandma is a hard worker....Isn't it nice that she can do a few jobs and feel so useful. I'm sure she will enjoy greeting the new arrivals as well.
That's good news about your new renter too. We just moved from a big house (3000 sq. ft.) into a downsizer. We haven't sold the big house yet and have considered renting it out but it is scary to think some family could get in there and make a mess out of it. Lots of things to consider if it hasn't sold in a few more months.
My hotmail is my main email too so I really hope that isn't so.
It was very kind of you to watch that little boy. I have a great husband who is very involved with our son and even having that there I times I have to get away so I don't go nuts. Can't imagine doing it on my own.
