More teeth and a 3rd grade graduate!
*GROSS PARAGRAPH-READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!* Tuesday night I realized that something was very wrong with my tooth... or rather with my tooth hole, since the tooth was extracted on Monday. There was suddenly lots and lots of bleeding. I couldn't get it stopped at all. All night long I had to sit up on the couch and keep spitting because if I didn't, I would literally choke on all the blood. I either had to get up every few minutes and spit into the sink or toilet, or else I would choke. I finally gave that up and got a bowl and just kept it next to me on the couch to spit in. Even with the spitting, I kept getting blobs of globby blood that would congeal around my other teeth...oh the horror. It was absolutely gross....I was grossing myself out! Haha. I do not have a weak stomach at all, but that really turned my stomach and about made me sick...the sheer force of will kept me from throwing up from disgust...I figured that would only worsen the situation, so I just refused to do it. Oh wow. It was like a scene out of a bad horror movie after awhile. It was quite terrible. I tried clamping down on gauze to stop it, but that actually seemed to make it worse. I didn't really know what to do except wait until the emergency line opened up, because what are the going to do about something like that at the actual emergency room? I wasn't sure, and also didn't want to have some strange doctor or dentist poking around in my mouth and making things worse. So I decided just to wait until my own dentist office emergency line opened on Wednesday. Once I dropped my son off at school, I called and headed in to the dentist office... it was 6:30 in the morning when I called them and they worked me in at 6:45. The nice thing is that my son's before school program starts at 6:00 and he was excited to go and play there, so it wasn't an issue with him being upset about being dropped off at school too early, OR having to sit in the waiting area of the dentist office. Anyway, long story short, there was a problem with my body not having clotted properly, probably because of all the infection in my tooth/face area. The dentist had to remove a huge clob of goo from my gum/tooth socket, and then pack the area with some sort of spray stuff which he said would taste gross but actually tasted rather refreshing after having had nothing but my own blood in my mouth for the entire night, and then packed it with something that looked like styrofoam to help the clotting, and then packing my cheek with gauze like a chipmunk. I had to go get yet another antibiotic to continue fighting the infection, and then off I went to work. My boss suggested I go home if I want to, because I have gobs of time off to use up anyway, and I wasn't at my best after having not slept the night before, and not being able to talk through the gauze.. So I came home and slept on the couch for 5 hours, and I was relieved when I would wake up to find that the area had not started bleeding again. I think whatever the foam stuff was that he shoved in there is magical. I have been super careful ever since then because I don't want to reopen anything, but so far so good. He said that after a few days I can stop being quite so careful, and that at the point I should be on the downhill...but what a yucky dental experience this has turned out to be. I am still pretty terrified to eat or drink because I want to be so careful, but I HAVE to, because otherwise the medicine I am on gives me an upset stomach. I am praying that this keeps going well though!
Today I had the day off work because my son graduated from 3rd grade! What a big boy! His dad and I took him out for lunch and got a few pictures with him, and then he went to his dad's house to spend the afternoon and night. This is his time with me, but I have to work tomorrow and since his dad has the day off, it makes sense that he stay there and be able to sleep in as late as he wants to on his first day of summer vacation!
After dropping the kiddo off for school this morning, I met J at a car dealership near here and he dropped his car off for some repair. I will pick him up in an hour or so and take him back to pick it up. Then, since my child is at his dad's, I will stay with J for awhile. We will probably eat dinner and maybe watch TV. Such an exciting couple. Hahah, that is ok. Those types of evenings suit me just fine. I think maybe from trying to heal and also from the medicines I am taking, I have been tired this week, so it sounds even better to just relax.
And tomorrow is happy FRIDAY!!!!!!!

What a terrible experience you had. You didn't look like you went through such a tough experience in the photo however. Your son is very cute.....
Hope the tooth problem never comes back again. Good luck!
Very glad that experience is over for you......you should have bit down on tea bag. My blood doesn't clot well and I have had to do that several times. Also Vitamin K helps blood clot. I know you don't need to know these things now that it is over
Great picture, thanks for sharing.
What a handsome young man and I love the picture of the two of you!
I can't handle gore so I had to skip the first part! Hope you do get some rest this weekend.
Girl, I would have had to go to the ER!! Glad to hear it worked out. I am glad too to see a picture of you two!! He looks like you! Be careful with your tooth and have a good night!
Good to see a pic of you and your son. Good looking people both of you.
Very cute picture ! I think that's the first time I actually ever saw a picture of you before come to think of it ! It's always nice to put a face to the names. It was very convenient that you were able to drop your son off at school at 6:00 am... but wow that's early ! I can imagine he must have been super tired in the morning. What a horrible experience you had with your teeth. I can just imagine in my head what that would have been like, but I'm sure I can't really accurately think about what you had actually experienced.
It's great your dentist was so accommodating and you were able to get in for an appointment so early. Hopefully the worst is behind you and you won't ever have to go through anything like that again ! Time really flies, you must be super proud of your son getting through grade 3.... that's already one quarter done the school program ! I hope that you feel much better this weekend. Take care and I'll talk to you soon, bye for now.

Hiya! I'm just zooming around to various Xanga people I have on my subs list, because I know most people don't read the front page... Xanga is CLOSING on July 15 -- they have posted on the "Xanga Team" blog, accessible from the front page of Xanga.
I'm trying to let people know, in case they haven't hears, because I think it would suck to LOSE years of blog entries! They are allowing everyone to archive, regardless of having Premium or not (instructions are in that Xanga Team blog entry).
