Yesterday my sister had her surgery-she had a hysterectomy. That well really well. She had the surgery in the morning and they were finished by 8:30am. She would have probably been sent home sooner today, but there was a bit of a concern regarding her heart. They discovered that her heart beats too fast so they ended up doing an EKG and an ultrasound of the heart, and keeping her on the heart monitor for 24 hours. They found an abnormality on the EKG, but they said she will be ok to go home, and they will follow up with her at a cardiology office in 2 weeks. Of course, she'll also have to follow up with the doctor regarding her female parts in one week, to be sure everything is still going smoothly there. I'm really hoping that having had this surgery will help her=she is kind of a wreck sometimes because she has had so many issues "down south". I don't know what to make of the heart issue-she is a constantly stressed out person....she just has always been very high strung. It is hard to tell if this issue was related to her nerves, the medication she was given for the surgery, or some other problem. The doctor seemed to think it could be either way, so that is why they will be doing the follow up. He is a great doctor and she is in good hands.
My dad stayed with her kids for the past 2 days so that her husband could be at the hospital with her, and since she is home now, my dad has decided to come to my house for the night. I guess he is going to drop off my son's Christmas gift, and then just spend the night here and go home in the morning. Since he is coming, I rushed home from the hospital when my sister was released so that I could at least pick up the worst of our Christmas clutter! This is my five minute break, but the vacuum awaits, so I better get off!

Glad the operation went well!
Hope it turns out well for your sister. How is the weather there? Here it is 32 and light snow. I am off today but have go work tomorrow since it is one of the 3 holidays I have to work for 2013. I am going to Carriage Hill, a living history farm, at about 4 pm to take some pictures of the snow. No sledding, since I don't like to do it by myself and Elita is not here now.
Really miss those sledding times!
It sounds like your sister has been through a lot, but hopefully with this surgery everything will be ok. And I'm sure she will always have lots of love and support from you and other friends and family members, so that will definitely help. I'm sure it won't be too much work to do a quick cleanup, and it will be a nice quick visit with your dad. I talked to Dora last night, and talk to her somewhat regularly by telephone. She's an important person for me and I had some great times with her, so I would say we are great friends, though we do seem to be pretty different in terms of dating, and now I'm in a different city so things couldn't really work in that way. But I will always talk with her and of course hope to see her again one day soon. Take care and have an awesome start to 2013 !

Hope your sister recovers well and that the heart thing was just a blip due to the stress of surgery. I'm sure your short visit with your Dad will go well. Glad you were able to post.
Hold old is she? Amy wondered since we get the impression she's not too old and most young women don't need a hysterectomy, do they? Well, what do I know...
