This has been a pretty good weekend. I have a 4 day weekend this time, because our office is closed on Christmas Day, and I took off on Christmas Eve since I knew that I had my son for the holiday this year and wanted to be able to spend some good time with him.I have been trying to come up with some fun things for us to do each day so that he has a good time even though we did not travel to spend time with cousins/family this year.
Friday night we went to the Phoenix Zoo for Zoolights. That was fun, although I was kind of surprised that there weren't more lights. It was very easy to see everything within an hour or an hour and a half. When we went, I kind of expected to spend about four hours there. It was ok, though, because it doesn't start until 6:00pm anyway, and we got there around 7. So, including driving time, we were home when it was late enough for bed, so it worked out just fine.
Saturday we slept in and then just played at home for awhile, and then we went to a movie. We watched Rise of the Guardians. I didn't really think that it would be that great, but it was actually a really cute movie! It had a good story and the graphics were impressive. I really liked it and my son did as well. It was lots of fun.
Sunday morning was church, followed my lunch at a place called Smashburger, with some friends from church. That was a good time, with lots of laughter. When we got home from that my son played in his room for awhile and I ended up falling asleep on the couch.
This morning we slept in again, and then got ready and went to the store. I had to get a gift card to mail as a gift to a family that my office sponsored this year. I also picked up a few groceries, some for tomorrow, and then some to use for the recipe of the week, which I might make later today. We'll see how energetic I am.
This evening, we'll go to the candlelight Christmas service. I am really excited about it, because my son has never been to one! He was old enough to go last year but he was with his dad, so this will be something new for him. Actually since i usually travel for Christmas, I had never been to one either up till last year, and I absolutely loved it. I can't wait to go tonight.
Ok-I better get off here and go continue with my laundry!

I have a 4 day weekend too! Nice, eh? I like that you do extra stuff with your son. I missed the Christmas Eve candlelight service this year as we had our Christmas with our daughter and her family. It was nice to spend time with them though. Merry Christmas
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
I'm a big fan of the candlelight service. Hope yours was wonderful!
It's great you have a long weekend to be able to fully enjoy Christmas. I've had way too much time off as I haven't worked since August 7 and I'm ready to start working again. There is really such a thing as too many days off ! I've been to a Zoo Lights before as well. I've never really understood it too well. It's in a zoo, but really has nothing to do with the zoo or the animals..... just lights that happen to be there. I went to the zoo in Calgary in 2008 for the Zoo Lights and I can remember it was a pretty big display. It's one of those things that a person just needs to see every five years or something though. Only a Christmas fanatic would want to go and see the display every single year !
A lot of those cartoon movies are great because kids always love them and usually the parents enjoy them as well, so they make perfect family movies. I hope that you enjoyed the candle light service, it would have been extra special going with your son for the first time. I hope that you had an amazing Christmas.
I haven't really been pursuing other jobs, as I've got far with this one job. It's just a matter of the company delivering my documents to the migration place. I know it doesn't sound like a good idea that I've only given myself this one, but the process of finding a job here is so long. I'd have to have an interview with someone from a recruitment company, then another interview with someone from the company, then do some tests on the computer, and then I'd probably have to wait a long time just to receive a work letter again and it would take a long time to get to where I am now, so i really hope this job works out ! Take care and I'll talk to you later, bye for now.
Kyle
Better late than never....It sounds like you had a lovely holiday with your son. I am sure you both enjoyed the new experiences and the special time together. I hope you have another great holiday this weekend too.
