Halloween
Happy Halloween!
When I resigned the lease on my apartment, they offered to shampoo my carpets for free as part of the deal. Who would turn that down!? So today I had to shut my poor kitty in the bathroom for the day, and the carpet people came in while I was at work and shampooed away. The carpets look really nice! I have two windows open and all the fans turned on so that they will hopefully dry a little quicker. It is nice to have them looking good. They weren't terrible before, but a few things had worked their way back up through since I had moved in, and then despite my best efforts, there was a stain or two here and there from some cat vomit. You know, the things that happen in life. Either way, it is nice!
Since I work for a pediatrician, we always dress up for Halloween. I borrowed a coworkers pumpkin costume this year because I didn't want to go and buy anything and I have absolutely no idea where my costume collection is since I moved last year. This pumpkin costume was very easy-just a pullover thing. Halloween really isn't my favorite thing, so I just do it for the work. Anyway, since we knew we would all be in costumes, we decided to have a taco bar type of potluck. Everyone signed up to bring one item to put on tacos. It worked really well and we had a good meal and a good time together.
My son dressed as Perry the Platypus from that show called Phineas and Ferb. He was excited about the costume, but like me, he really isn't all that enthusiastic about Halloween in general. We went up and down 3 streets and he had a good sized bag of candy and he was totally ready to come home, so we did.
I am amusing myself tonight-I just went to send a text with the name "Jake" in it. My phone auto corrected it twice...the first time it changed the name to "Bald" and the second time to "Jaw". Isn't that funny? I thought so-I went ahead and laughed to myself for awhile!

hehhe good ol' auto correct...although when I'm in a rush it really infuriates me!! I love Halloween:) It's great you guys dress up:)
It's great you had that free carpet cleaning offer. I know it makes things a little inconvenient for a day, but obviously it's so worth it as your carpets now look better than ever. I haven't actually worn a costume since I was 14, though it's always amazing how many ideas people have for costumes. The girl I saw the other day at one of the places I interviewed looked so much like Amy Winehouse. The taco potluck must have been delicious.
Your son must really have enjoyed his costume. Having a child who isn't super concerned with collecting more and more candy must be nice. I've never been much of a texting fan, it takes me so long and the phones always do annoying things like what happened to you. Take care and have a wonderful weekend, bye for now.

When I was still working, the business offices would not allow costumes....We used to talk about doing it anyway but you would never know who might complain to the Home Office.
Clean carpets are great. Nice that you got them when the lease was renewed. My sister lives in an apt. complex and this year, they finally gave her new carpeting in the bedroom and living room and laminated wood flooring in the bathroom and kitchen. She has such a tiny place that it couldn't have cost them much but she had to argue with them...she's been there about 7 years and the carpet and tile was old when she moved in.
