I am reading a book right now called The Greatest Salesman In The World. Written by Og Mandino. This is a very small book-and very simply written, but it actually has some pretty neat thoughts in it. The cover says "transform your life and find true fulfillment with the priceless wisdom of ten ancient scrolls revealed within". That sounds to me like a dumb self help book, but I promised a friend that I would read it, so I went ahead and opened it up, and I've been pleasantly surprised. I suppose it is like an inspirational sort of little book, but it is written as a story at the same time as it offers advice...so it is kind of neat to read. I'm almost done with it. I wouldn't go out and buy my own copy or anything like that, but it hasn't been a total waste of time at all. Like I said, pleasantly surprised!
My son is getting pumped up-his first game is on Saturday! He'd better be pumped, because the game starts at 7:00am, and we have to be there by 5:30am. So much for sleeping in on my day off!!! As long as he is excited, that is ok with me. It is also better to go early and beat the heat! We'll be wrapping up our game by the time it really gets hot out. Football practice yesterday was really hot and miserable, and I actually ended up falling asleep again. I don't know how I do that, and I have no idea why it keeps happening to me. Maybe I just get so hot that my body just needs to shut off and go to sleep for a few minutes and recover? Who knows.
Off I go...!

you know that old song '....the things we do for love, the things we do for love. Like walking in the sun and the rain....' I can't remember who sings it but when I read that you're getting up in the middle of the night to be there at 5 30 am so he can play at 7 am, that song popped into my mind:)
Hope his first game goes well. Like you said, at least it will be over before the heat gets too terrible. Much safer t ht way.
I imagine you just fall asleep because it is so warm.......hope you are drinking a cool drink while you sit there.
It's always great to read or watch an amazing book or movie, but it's even better when someone ends up finding something they truly enjoy and find useful, after expecting so little. It goes to show a book doesn't have to be lenghy and complicated to be a valuable resource. The short and to the point books really have the potential to have a much larger impact on people. I was really surprised reading that they'd start a football game so early, but with the heat there I can really understand, it's a much safer thing to do when it's not as hot, so it makes complete sense. Though I would say they should move the football season to the fall or winter months !
I wish you all the best with everything. Take care and have a wonderful weekend, bye for now.

That's waaaay too early! Julian's first team sport starts this Saturday too. Don't know what time. If it's before 8 am though, his dad is taking him!
