  • Today my new tenant moved in!!!!  Since everything went through a realtor this time, I haven't met the lady yet.  I did go to the old house yesterday twice, one time by myself to clean the refrigerator and bathroom counter, and then again with T to put up a lighting fixture and fix the water hydrant.  I ran in to some of her friends who were helping her paint, and they were both very, very nice people, so I am hopeful.  The realtor said that she is a very nice lady and that she has asked if I might consider selling the house at some point in the future.  Hopefully that means she will take care of it.  I know you just never can tell, but so far, so good.  She asked for permission to paint some rooms before she moved in, and so she painted one of the bedrooms a really pretty soft purple color (she has a granddaugher, and that will be for her to stay in) and then the other two rooms are a light light brown/dark tan color.  It all looks very good.

    I met with a friend at one of my favorite places to eat lunch today, a pita place near here.  We hadn't seen each other in months so it was really nice to hang out.  I took a nap after that and am now trying to work up the oomph to go to the store and get bread, which is something I forgot yesterday when I was there.

  • You mentioned her wanting to maybe buy the house.   Boy, if it's bringing in a profit, and she's a good tenant, I'd keep the house.  There seems to be no where to invest $$ where it brings a profit.    Just my butinsky opinion..... (o;

  • It is always good when you have a tenant who asks permission BEFORE they do something and one who wants to take care of the place!

  • Hopefully everything works out with this new tenant. I know my parents have had some horrible tenants before and they've made such messes. There is now a lady in the house who has been in for almost six years and she's been absolutely perfect. I guess finding a good tenant is like a job interview. People just have to pick who they think is the best person and hope for the best. It sounds like she really wants to fix up the house as well so she obviously wants to take really good care of it so that's a great sign. I don't think you'll have any problems. It's always nice to spend time with good friends you haven't seen in a while, I'm sure you'll have lots of fun. Take care and have an awesome start to the week, bye for now.

  • Thank you so much for visiting my blogsite and for your comment.   If  you read some of my back blogs since May, 2012, you will see that we are taking a big risk and trying to sell our big house and moving into a downsizer.   So far, no luck on selling the big house....I will be reading to see  how your rental situation goes for you.  We may have to resort to that.   Most of this house's walls are painted in a sandy brown...think it was called Sahara Sand....We have loved it for the 10 years we have lived  here......it has t urned into a lovely neutral background for any other accents in the rooms.

    I am subscribing to your blog.
